You can install Google chrome on Debian in only three steps:
(1) go to https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/ and download the appropriate .deb package
(2) Install it
sudo dpkg -i ~/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
(3)Solve dependency issues
sudo apt-get -f install
And you're ready to go!
PS: the alternative to Google chrome would be to use iceweasel with the firebug extension. The licences would be more friendly, but I find that chrome's developer tools are more ergonomically designed.
